I saw this but didnā€™t realise it was AI search that pulled this little ā€˜gemā€™ up.

Iā€™ve moved a lot of my search to Chat GPT, where I want an answer to a question - as you can ask follow ups. Itā€™s not perfect but itā€™s leagues better than the mess that is Google now.

For decades googles ad business is one of the only divisions they consistently delivered. Everywhere else (excluding cloud and YouTube) else you got got fancy announcements before the product was killed quietly a few years later. Maybe the bell is now tolling for search.
