Amazon - AMZN - Share Chat

I am a big fan of amazon as a shopping experience even though I know the issues at hand are a problem ethically. Problem is the service is just too good compared to others but the Prime TV is only ever worth a month a year subscription :joy: Usually Xmas to get free delivery for the presents.

who thinks we are going to get baited again history shows sell off always happen when stock is around the range of 3500s-3600

Approaching a 5% gain on the first day without Jeff Bezos at the helm. Strong move, very positive. Now where’s that stock split!

Also likely to be affected by the news that the JEDI contract is back up for bidding after having been awarded to Microsoft initially…

That certainly helps

Amazon’s net sales rose to $113.08 billion in the second quarter ended June 30 from $88.91 billion, a year earlier. Analysts on average had expected $115.20 billion

Down 5% in after market which seems dramatic.

Ouch! About $120bn wiped off over night.

The Post Offices exclusivity deal with Royal Mail should have ended as soon as the Conservatives sold off more of the family silver Royal Mail was privatised.

The sooner that Post Offices can sell postage options from all couriers the better and the more chance it will have of surviving. As much as I dislike Amazon and its practices, this is great news for the PO.

Not such good news for those with Royal Mail shares.

Amazon’s moving into the territory of delivery firms in the USA - shipping anything for anyone, not just Amazon orders. Those companies should be worried. Royal Mail shareholders are a brave kind anyway given that the company is saddled with having to provide universal coverage and make unprofitable deliveries to remote locations. It’s a millstone round their necks and an obvious reason why even the USA hasn’t privatised their national mail service… but I digress.

I imagine Amazon’s growing logistics wing will one day be spun off when the already overdue break up of the company happens.

“Alexa, my company doesn’t pay me enough to live on, they work me to death, I can’t pee when I want to, taxpayers have to subsidise my wage so that I don’t starve to death and I barely feel alive… please give me some drugs so that I can have a temporary escape”

Star Trek fans might think that Amazon are just using weed as a stop gap until they can give their workers ketracel-white to ensure worker loyalty and docility.

I can’t help but think this is going to be really good money maker even after 2nd or 3rd generation.

Thanks, I could see it being useful for people who want to check on their home while away, actually. It’s either that or an internal camera system. I personally wouldn’t want either.
