I’m just hoping it hits $100 so I have my initial out + some profit. After that it’s all fun and games. I’m finding it hard to believe it could hit 100k, or even 1k for that matter, but stranger things have happened…

One thing I’ve never been clear on is what price do the short sellers have to pay interest on? The current price or the price they shorted at?
I know people like to say the short sellers “lost” x many millions on a particular day, but is this a real loss or just a loss if they theoretically covered at that instant? It could be that their losses would be so great it’s cheaper to just wait till people get bored.

I’m curious about that too, and I wonder if they could just hunker down and wait it out until people who are over invested have to sell or just get bored and want their money back for other purposes…
I hope AMC takes off, I really do, it’ll be a tidy earner even at $100

My worry is that the HFs have many alt accounts buying shares and that one day they suddenly have enough to cover and then, bang, it causes chaos. Far fetched? probably but is it possible for them to buy loads and then sell to themselves privately or use aftermarket type deals?
My point is I just think they have an end game people are not thinking about but I genuinely hope they don’t. If I was a rich HF I would buy loads in private and sell at X back to my fund.
Edit - I am NOT saying that will happen I just wouldn’t be surprised if they come up with a plan no-one is expecting to get out of it.

My understanding and I’m sure ralf will help out they state price at start and set end time and once reaches date it takes effect win or lose.

Welcome to the forum. The general etiquette here is to search to find out if others have answered your question already, rather than expecting someone to summarise it again for every new member who joins and asks. These questions and more have been asked to death many times over, and answered by different people representing the full spread of biases. I could hardly do everybody else’s opinions justice to explain their viewpoints, and it would seem a shame to do so, when they themselves have already exerted so much effort explaining their own viewpoints so succinctly.
