Anyone learned any new hobbies/skills during lockdown?

Same! I’ve won the last four games with mates which at $250 each game is a good investment whichever way you look at it. Ready for the casinos next

Went a bit overboard and signed up for all sorts of courses… Recently completed a financial modelling course, and now prepping for a Sustainability/Climate Risk certificate later in the summer.

I’m the opposite, I don’t like working from home. I want to go back where there’s people, and I don’t want my house to be a workplace. I am walking distance from the office though, I’d probably be thinking differently if I had a long commute.

As for Lockdown, I started doing yoga just before the virus took off as a way to improve flexibility and core strength for bouldering/climbing. Haven’t been able to do much bouldering so the Yoga has become the main exercise. It seems to have become massively popular over lockdown but I started before it was cool

I started producing a podcast just before lockdown but have been furiously writing the next season during lockdown! It’s about helping people understand and manage their finances if anyone is interested

Could you recommend a course providing service?

For the financial modelling? Certainly - currently with lockdown etc https://academy.gridlines.com/ have been providing a free course (albeit this is more Project finance focussed - which is what I work in). Note this will revert to being a paid course at some point in the future.

A more general Investment Banking / Finance type modelling course (3 statements, DCF, LBO, M&A etc…) I’ve enjoyed is the CFI course. Very bitesize but clear learning and a good way to build a solid foundation. You get a certification at the end, and its easy to do in your own time.

It has some free courses as well which are good to do to get an idea of the style. I’ve got a 10% off referral code (I get USD30 as well) if its of interest.

Thank you.

I’ve started to write on Medium about investments, if anybody is interested I have an article here where I discuss risk.
