[Feature Request 🔧] SIPP: Remove Withholding Tax on Foreign Dividends

Usually dual tax treaties treat tax wrappers such as ISAs and pension matters such as SIPP very differently. In the case of the USA 30% dividend holding is reduced to 15% via the W8BEN in or out of a ISA.

I might have misunderstood, but this is how I understood the situation. I thought you always had to pay this 15% tax as a UK resident. We’ve already had a “rebate” due to tax treaties, by virtue of the W-8BEN giving us a discounted rate from the full 30%. Whether it’s in a UK ISA or UK SIPP is irrelevant to the IRS - as far as the US is concerned, we need to pay 15% tax on it.
