More scary than your email?
Hi @newuserft I donāt want to come across as unkind here but I do want to pick you up on something.
You joined the forum 10 days ago and checking your comments you have only complained about Freetrade, itās processes and services.
Do you really think you should be doing business with a company you quite clearly do not like? They arenāt going to be changing their policies and procedures because of someone with a anonymous forum account.
As people portfolios on the platform are maturing/expanding with the introduction of ISAs /SIPPs it would be good to get this as an option
Hi @NeilB
In one of my initial post I did say and I do appreciate the work FT has done so far.
And if I am complaining about something then clearly I like FT.
I will check if/when a webapp is available.
I m not going to save milions by moving to FT but I do have big sums in my ISA and SIPP.
Not every one knows how emails work.
Would really like to see this option added. With password reuse being very common these days, the option would really make the platform more secure as a whole
Canāt we use Microsoft āauthenticatorā app?
Quick finger print or face Iād notification upon login. Takes 2 seconds. More and more companies are using these authenticator apps these days for an extra layer of security. Both Microsoft and Google have them.
I think this is really important to boost our confidence in the app, can you please look into this?
1 year later and this is still not an option.
Is this even planned?
As my portfolio grows I become more nervous that there is no desktop access and only via app and password/faceID for security.
Crypto wallets and exchanges almost universally have 2FA.
Why does Freetrade still not have this option?
Itās not on the roadmap but as pointed out previously the worst someone could do is sell stocks and then wait for 3 days for the fund to clear before moving the money into the linked bank account.
I would like to see this feature added in time though.
A major hack on Freetrade due to them not having Two factor authentication will look extremely bad on the company.
A āmajor hackā of the sort that exposes user data en masse will come from an attack on Freetradeās databases.
Requiring 2FA on the users side isnāt going to help with that.
I donāt see what incentive a hacker would have, unless they have compromised a user so completely that they can withdraw from the linked bank account.
