I bought a 12% bond. Ipf 2027.
Very nice.
Segro looks like a good buy.
Pennon is a utility water and sewage nice little defensive stock.

What is the advantage of Freetrade compared to Trade212? I personally like the interface of Freetrade but other than that I was not sure. How about you? I’m self-questioning, why am I using Freetrade? Please share your thoughts.

Freetrade is to me the best app for a user as it is lovely and simple. The price for the full package is very good and I can’t see a better match anywhere, cost wise.

I have stopped using the GIA and ISA now due to development lacking in areas that I would like but they do improve other things.

Personally, the SIPP is what keeps me with them but I would probably move if a similar offer was elsewhere and offered draw down options but FT seem to avoid this topic like the plague. I find this odd as surely it is the best customer to gain as it is very long term and regular investing.

The forum, is also 2nd to none compared to the other apps but even that has lost 70-80% of the activity in the last 2 years.

TBH, every app has benefits for some people over others so every-ones opinion is accurate for them but maybe not others.

When Vanguard initially offered their SIPP, there were no drawdown details either. This wasn’t offered until at a later date so I guess Freetrade will do similar.

I completely agree. The SIPP being included in the package is what makes FT competitive and appealing over competitors. It is just so frustrating that the SIPP itself has these gaps (add in the lack of employer contribution functionality, which is a pain for me and others).

Oh I get thatšŸ‘ My issue is the silence on it. Many Qs have been asked and no response. Like i say thats just my view as i want to save for the future knowing my options but FT are not offering that and when i joined it was due to that.
At the time the detail was ā€œcoming soonā€ and like many things am still waiting.
Most people dont want to go on forums etc and just want a pension that they know will be there when they retire and what options they will have. Here it is that we can move to another provider. Even just sounding out what is popular with the forum might make it feel like it is on the horizon.
Hopefully it will come soon as if a rival comes up with draw down it really would make the top package lose its appeal.

To move 212 you have to sell everything in your account as they will only accept cash moves. I may be wrong on this as I think they have changed it recently.
So moving would work out very expensive.
The choices on 212 are vastly superior to freetrade. BUT if you are buying shares in a small company it can take days even weeks for purchases to go through.
I am not talking about limit orders just standard purchases. They appear to be buying on the over the counter market. So a £1,000 order might result in 5 purchase of varying amounts over a week!
I have yet to sell on 212 so can’t say if the same happens when selling.
The interface is sh1t.
