Unfortunately I was in a very bad place financially until around 2020/2021 when my luck and circumstances started to change and I could finally afford the basics and, on top, the chance to save and invest.

I have invested 3x as well and my biggest I’m sure was that r7 although I yfiied to get a good few in on the convertible shares to try help with the R7.

Tbh i actully can’t remember which came first. I almost forget about crowd cube at times

22 shares in 2021

In 2022 it doesn’t tell me how many shares bevause the convertible thing.

193 shares in 2023

Agree, needs several years of building.

@Racxie The valuation ballooned and then crashed back down, as has happened with a number of early stage high risk/high return companies, both Private and Public. Freetrade is now recovering and things are looking upwards with growth, profitability and valuation multiples should pick up as interest rates fall.

The closest thing to an index (I can think of) showing the valuation shape is an ARK ETF, the £9 round was around the peak: ARKK $42.64 (▲2.52%) ARK Innovation ETF | Google Finance

I’m aware of this and a Ā£9.25 valuation wasn’t going to be sustainable - that should have been obvious to anyone. However I’d still expect it to be higher than the current Ā£2.60 valuation by at least double, especially considering that they keep winning all these awards. Yet it seems like Freetrade is struggling having even just recently announced they’ll be closing their operations in Sweden (didn’t they also make some job cuts like everyone else?). Though it doesn’t surprise me too much considering that a few competitors have popped up.

Hell I was even considering moving my pension into a Freetrade SIPP once the management costs end up higher than Freetrade’s monthly subscription, yet a competitor has recently stated they’re closer to releasing a free SIPP in line with what is already an actually free platform unlike Freetrade (despite the name).

Huh? The trades are free on Freetrade. It was never called FreeSipp.

I feel like the broker wars will get to the point that one broker will go so far as to make everything free to join to use to have an isa, sipps, etc to the point it seems free to one up any other platform but ofc will need to make cash in other ways which don’t involve any of the above.

I wonder what those could be :)))))

Ouch.

You and I started our Freetrade journey in the same round. Did you ever get your free stuff? I’m still waiting for mine, I get excited every day when I hear the post drop.

:crossed_fingers:

Stephen, why do you want to hurt me like this? Your words have power. You’re tearing me apart! :cow::broken_heart:

I did get a Freetrade hoodie a long time ago and for the 2021 crowdfund I did push myself to invest a sum eligible for the NFT perk…

…as there was a lot of chatter on here from those within Freetrade about cool/exciting perks that might be attached to it.

After not receiving anything for literally years, Freetrade did finally deal with the NFT issue at the end of April this year when they sent this email.

Now I know how Clark Griswold felt when his employer scrapped his Christmas bonus and gave him a 1 year membership to the Jelly Of The Month Club. I’ve shrugged it off. NFT mania rightly died off and I do think it was in Freetrade’s best interests to scrap the idea even though it clearly wasn’t in my best interest and the delivered perk ended up being beyond comically bad for the amount invested.

That said, don’t give up on chasing your undelivered perks! I’m really disappointed to see that there are still people who didn’t receive anything. I feel like setting up a quick print-on-demand site with the FT logo on some stuff so that you can just order it yourself!!

Cow, your words are to my broken heart as Hermione’s wand was to Harry Potters glasses on that fateful train all those years ago.
