FT share price - IG agrees to acquire Freetrade 2025

Very poor for investors in my opinion.

I think it’s less than £2 per share.

£1.19 for us, much more for the big investors. Really disappointing.

Seems a bad price. Surprised the decision makers would accept this. Freetrade has excelled at poor timing esp in the capital raising department, starting with tapping crowd at 650m then being too slow to close their series C at a similar valuation and having to do multiple down rounds. Now selling for 160m the moment they are profitable. The only way this makes sense is if management doesn’t have confidence company can remain profitable.

Small investors get ripped off.

No wonder no-one invests in the UK.

There is no justification for the huge difference in share price. This is pretty scandalous and potentially illegal.
Giving smaller shareholders a lower payout with no clear justification

Time to move to Trading 212.

(I’m one of the earliest adopter, account number 8000.)

I don’t say this lightly :frowning:

So today will be me looking at alternative places for my investments.

Not going to act in haste, but certainly going to do some research.

Was very happy with Freetrade, but this has left a very sour taste.

Share certs just say B shares - how do we know what are B1 and B3 shares?

Initial thoughts are this is a terrible deal for most Crowdcube investors.

Like others have a six figure sum invested through Freetrade, will be looking to switch that elsewhere now.

Yes this is a stinking deal… what on earth

Unfortunately this will all be watertight. Part of the series B investments will be a clause that guarantees a certain return. That should be illegal because it more or less means you can cut out other investors, but that’s how it is.
How they came to £160m number is where the real shenanigans probably lie. Low share price but top execs get a huge signing bonus and a sweet employment deal thereafter? The ones who agree the deal never go short…

1.19 is the very low price. First sentence states A Ordinary shares and B Investment shares.

Well this is an absolute kick in the @#!!s. It’s definitely a valuation impacted by the macro economics of the UK in particular but a sad reminder that share classes trump grass roots support. Investor in 5 rounds since 2019 and have lost money here. I think Crowdcube style investment opportunities have so little oversight or protection that I’m not likely to invest again, a sad day

B investment shares are the ordinary ones

What are B1 and B3, first time hearing about these.
What a letdown. Even though I was pessimistic this is lit worse. May be the deal is to have people keep their jobs, who knows
