General Investment Account

Hi all!

Suppose I max out my yearly ISA and start investing money through a general investment account.

Is it possible to transfer all of my general investment account to an ISA in the new tax year? I.e. suppose my general investment account has a value less than £20k, can I transfer it over easily in the new tax year?

Or, would I have to sell my ETF’s in my general account and transfer the money to an ISA in the new tax year?

You would have to sell your shares in your GIA and then either manually transfer the money to the ISA (withdraw, re-deposit) or get FT to do this for you, and then re-buy in the ISA.
