I only hold one stock. If you think something is a great investment then why invest in dozens of other companies that you don’t think are as good investments?
When I started out I had about 20+ investments in all sorts of companies and I had done very little research on most of them, picked bad entry points and just didn’t have the time to keep a close watch on them all. My portfolio would be in tatters if I had kept them because several of my bigger holdings have dropped by 60-75% since then.
I’m not saying we should all just invest in one stock as that too is incredibly risky unless you know what you’re doing, but if I had more cash I can’t see me ever holding more than a handful of stocks again.
