I’m not entirely convinced that announcement is good news so it’s unsurprising to me the SP would have been flat or slightly down.

Some people seem to think every downward market movement is due to nefarious dealings with short sellers and market makers. Why would short sellers even be interested in a huge profitable company that has been in an uptrend? they tend to target losers
