MEGATHREAD: Activity feed CSV export šŸ“©

It’s looking good… but maybe I’m being daft, but what does ā€˜AGGREGATE’ mean in the Order Type column?

This thread had a lot of detail in it. I think its hidden

This is great @Max_R.

I’m not sure if I’m too late in my reply but I’d second @Lonli-Lokli’s request above to have a column for the ticker (where appropriate).

If I’m being too picky, I perhaps would change ā€œInstrument Amountā€ and ā€œInstrument Price per Shareā€ to ā€œTotal Sharesā€ and ā€œPrice per Shareā€ respectively, as it might make more sense to most and explicitly clear what the figures represent.

I’d also like to see whether my transactions were either a LIMIT BUY / LIMIT SELL or regular.

Good inclusion for the Div Ex Date on the CSV, something I hadn’t thought about in all honesty but I guess it makes sense to include it here. (I’d love to see the Div Ex Date somewhere in the stock information).

Great work

Probably another proposal would be to allow date range selection for this activity, with start and end dates (months)

How do you propose showing SIPP tax reclaims (the text descriptions)?

How will splits/consolidations be represented.

Does every field have correct/reasonable decimal place count.

Ticker. Ticker. Ticker. Ticker.

Looking forward to this first draft implemantation.

Hi all, thank you for your feedback, all really helpful in the shaping of this new feature. Let me respond below to all of them below.

My first request will be to add ticker in the format NYSE.BABA

@Lonli-Lokli We will be able to add ticker in the first release but linked to exchange will be more difficult. This is something we can explore in future releases.

Thank you for sharing this @Max_R. It is great.

I would like to see clear markers for Dividend in the form of shares and Dividend in the form of Cash. I would also like to see an entry related to distribution of funds related to Scrip offers (distinct from Dividend). I note that some people who received the WISE offer commented that they received no notification in their feed. I don’t know if this is true or not - but regardless please make sure the Activity feed records the receipt of such bonus shares.

For tax purposes this document is missing information on accumulation funds. When a Fund accumulates you need to indicate it. It is an event significant for tax purposes.

@bitflip I will take your points one by one.

  1. Dividend Distribution - We will add a column with distribution_type which shows a next layer of detail associated with the dividend e.g. capital / interest distribution.
  2. Stock Outturn - In the first release of the activity feed download it will only include data which is present in the activity feed today. For example, the Wise Outturn noted above will not be included in the download as it’s not present in the activity feed. In future releases we will improve this functionality to include more corporate actions as part of the download but this will require additional work to bring that data into the activity feed first.
  3. Accumulation Funds - This data will not be made available in the activity feed download but when we look at improved tax reporting in the future this is something we will consider as part of that feature.

It’s looking good… but maybe I’m being daft, but what does ā€˜AGGREGATE’ mean in the Order Type column?

@mikesmart AGGREGATE is the name for batch orders. We will change this to reflect more friendly naming conventions.

This thread had a lot of detail in it. I think its hidden

@J4ipod94 thank you, I will have a read!

@ForeverNewbie thanks and agree with your feedback.

I’d also like to see whether my transactions were either a LIMIT BUY / LIMIT SELL or regular.

The order type column will tell you what type of order type it is.

Probably another proposal would be to allow date range selection for this activity, with start and end dates (months)

@Lonli-Lokli If you apply a filter in the activity feed (live today) then you will have the option to download a filtered report.

How do you propose showing SIPP tax reclaims (the text descriptions)?

How will splits/consolidations be represented.

Does every field have correct/reasonable decimal place count.

Ticker. Ticker. Ticker. Ticker.

@MatAtFreetrade SIPP tax reclaims will be present in the activity field with the amount. Is there additional information you were expecting in the SIPP tax relief item?

Splits/consolidations - As noted above only items which are in the activity feed today will be available for download. In the future, we will look to improve this further with other corporate actions.

In terms of the decimal places they will be represented accurately for each activity feed item type.

The ticker will be added to the export as mentioned above.

Thanks all for your feedback.

@Max_R superb  I wasn’t expecting everything mentioned to be added to iteration one. But wanted to make sure it gets added to the to-do list.

Thank you very much to you and the team.

The ability to see a total cost for FX fees charged over certain amounts of time would be useful.

Hi everyone

From today, we’re making it easier for you to track your investments with CSV exports of your Freetrade Activity feed.

Comp2

We are gradually rolling out this feature to all iOS customers over the next week, with Android to follow. iOS users can download the update directly from the App Store.

Simply head to the Activity tab on your app and hit the export button in the top right corner. This will let you download your activity since account opening, including:

  • Interest
  • Dividends
  • Free shares
  • Top ups and withdrawals
  • Tax relief (where applicable)
  • Buy and sell orders (Successful and queued)

You can also download a filtered view, based on activity type and date.

You may notice the ticker is missing for dividends. We are working on getting this added over the next few days.

Please note that certain transactions needed for tax calculations will not be in this CSV export, such as stock takeovers.

This is one of our most highly-requested features from the community, so let us know what you think and what you’d like to see next!

When you invest your capital is at risk, the value of your investments can go down as well as up and you may get back less than what you invest.
