Hi David,

The BBC apologised for saying the wrong thing; for saying something that the bank hadn’t. The bank didn’t say they were closing his account for political reasons. Rather they intimated they would have to be more careful than usual given Farage’s high public profile.

So again, not NWG’s fault.

I totally agree that someone’s political views should not determine banking facilities, but I am convinced that this was not the case here. The bank should, and could have been a lot more careful in how they handled this situation, but their rules are the rules.

Does the fact that Farage knew about Coutts’ decision in April, that his new boss at GB News since about May has been shorting the stock - are they just coincidences? I think not.

Farage is using this to further his own agenda; he couldn’t give a monkeys’ for anyone else in the same situation, in my opinion. And if he is such a ‘man of the people’, why does he need an account at Coutts?
