I’d feel a bit bad doing that. Amazon is a struggling company. They can’t even afford to pay the proper rate of tax in the UK or around the world plus their owner, well known for his generous philanthropic work, has just had to pay for a messy divorce that wasn’t even his fault.
[Huge amounts of sarcasm - also the tax loopholes are the fault of sucessive governments - the current ruling party that has had over 10 years to sort the issue and haven’t bothered doing so… but I won’t rant about that here!!]
It’s the same for now tv (sky) three times in a row I’ve cancelled, gone through all three cancel screens and it offers it more or less half price for 3/6 months.
May be good longer term for the industry and not for the streaming services - realistically unlikely to go anywhere and very UK centric ; not sure if the EU have anything similar and the US position will no doubt depend on where the election goes; focus seems to be on the big tech currently
I wonder how long it’s going to take for some UK MPs to realise that now the UK is alone, it no longer has the clout to influence how giant multinational corporations operate.
Worst performer this earnings season for me so far, down 12%+ today. Growth is slowing, but I never really considered Spotify to really have a pandemic bonus, because I mostly associate them with listening during commutes, which most people no longer do.
Enjoying this show over the weekend. Learnt quite a few things I didn’t know about the early days of the company and the tech. Disclaimer: not sure how accurate it all is, mind you.
