UK Treasury bill - Treasury bill chat

In the drop down list of my accounts, GIA ISA SIPP, I’m still seeing Treasury listed. Can this be removed now that’s it’s incorporated into the other accounts?

Anyone in already for tomorrows treasury tender? If I do I will complete my set of four, no base rate changes atleast until November, hopefully we can keep to around 5% for the foreseeable :crossed_fingers:

Mine is in on automatic reinvestment.

Hey @Rubix, the Treasury account has been left there for the time being to allow customers to see the activity feed. But we do have it on the roadmap to clean up and remove it.

Me too - I completed my set of 4 last week. I now have £100 in each of 4 staggered bills, 1 renewing every week. They all auto-reinvest so I can just check the return rate each week and stop the next one if it ever drops too low.

Back down to 4.92% today

Yeah, but disappointed to be honest. I’ve a sum of money coming my way and looks like I’d be better off putting it to a savings account. Prosper are doing a 6 month fixed term with 5.3%.

Interesting, not heard of that one. Also we’re getting close to a 6 month fix pushing the interest earned into the next tax year*

*Whether this is a good thing or not very much depends on the Labour budget of course

If you have £20k and are fixing it for 6 months.

The treasury bonds are a 1 month maturity and £100 minimum. They’re not the same product.

You should review what type of product is best for your needs and use that

I like that the funds are locked away but can be accessed within 30 days if needs be.
I use my treasury bills for the emergency savings fund so as long as we beat inflation I’m happy

Yeah, I’m looking for long term regular returns. Maybe for myself it’s better gaining interest instead of income from a tax point of view.

My first treasury reinvestment is due tomorrow :star_struck:, together with a new position, hoping for north of 4.85% YTM :crossed_fingers:.

I submitted my first treasury order today and interested to see how it performs :+1:t4:

I noticed last night upon maturity confirmation that only the nominal value (highlighted in the purchase note 4 weeks prior) has been set up for reinvestment. When I looked on my actual account, the balance for that treasury was a few £ higher than the nominal value, will I get that difference in my account on Monday does anyone know?

4.91% today.

Does any interest you earn in that month automatically get reinvested?

Yeah, but only the agreed at outset nominal value as per the contract, but yeah that difference gets reinvested automatically. Mine matured last night and got reinvested today.

Assuming you have 100% set to reinvest, then yes.

Well, it’s falling but it’s still OK compared to most savings accounts, and it could go up again!
This is why I have 4 staggered over 4 weeks - if one is down a bit the next one could be up.
