This podcast is a great explanation of the current ecosystem and key players all of which are in SMGB, would be great to this ETF on the platform.

Why is this stock not showing as available Freetrade team?

Adding my Vote to this, you have the gaming one up which is fine even if its behind Plus how come just the one? would make sense to add their range of ETFs.

Really hoping @Viktor and team has considered this for the next ETF batch!
Probably will tip me into a Plus membership!

Would absolutely love to have this available, especially with the global shortages

Here’s a nice brief introduction to the sector by Tech Altar (which makes consistently interesting tech videos)

Any updates on this? Would be great to have this available to all Freetrade users :slightly_smiling_face:

According to :freetrade: (in March) this ETF was very illiquid - I don’t know if this has changed but Yahoo Finance is only showing yesterdays data (which is very odd) and only shows 38k volume.

Does anyone else know why this one doesn’t have the data / trade much volume? You’d think it would be very popular with 0.35% fees too.

Could possibly be related to what looks like an identical ETF - SMH (VanEck Vectors Semiconductor UCITS ETF)

It definitely has more volume as seen here

Looks like a better option than SMGB and trade on the LSE so is definitely available in the UK - VanEck Semiconductor UCITS ETF, SMH:LSE:USD summary -

It has higher number of trades and volume than many of the thematic ETFs on the app
@Viktor has the team revisited this ETF?

There’s a thread here to request it - Request - SMH and SMGB

SMGB has been requested plenty but the team has determined it to be illiquid. I’d be great if we could count the requests for SMGB towards SMH since that looks like a pretty identical alternative and should meet the requirements @Viktor

I’ve created a new request/thread here identical to SMGB ETF - [Request] SMH (VanEck Vectors Semiconductor UCITS ETF)

Would appreciate votes on it so the Freetrade team can look into adding the ETF as we all have interest in it :slightly_smiling_face: Thanks
