What is going on today? - Megathread

As itā€™s a big sum, Iā€™ve set a hard limit but weā€™re not far off hitting my target now.

It may not work out but Iā€™m at least earning about 5% in the interim, so itā€™s not the end of the world.

I continue to invest monthly but those sums are in the hundreds rather than thousands.

It seemed fairly obvious to me that some of the heat had to come out of NVDA. Hopefully, pausing for a month or two will pay off.

Iā€™m all for time in the market usually but there are exceptions to every rule.

Nice glad you have a plan, I did have a plan for last Thursday I felt the gut feeling that it felt right but bricked it lol. With interest rate shouts today as well right when I was thinking again.

They say 60% is already priced on for interest rate cuts this Thursday?

1 Month is at 5.07% so itā€™s ~70% rate cut now

Given that several big names are reporting a slowdown in growth and economic data, especially in labor, is weakening, I believe the Fed is overdue for a rate cut, which is unlikely to happen swiftly.

Massive downside surprise on US payrolls. Fed is already too late.

Markets already pricing +100bps of cuts by the end of the year to try avert recession.

I wish I hadnā€™t looked ā€¦itā€™s looking grime!

Mid-summer sales are on!

I have my eyes on LGEN, PAX, and a long list of tech stocks and ETF (e.g. CRM and IITU)

What are you guys buying?

slim pickings hereā€¦added to
LGEN, MDT, BNS, GIS, GPC, VHYL

Not many good buying ops here at momentā€¦money has poured back into dividend stocks. Had it good for about 18 months.

Is this a new 2022 unfolding?

Itā€™s like watching a film in slow motion, suddenly realising Iā€™ve watched this film before.
I might just forget the shopping spree and go defensive, something to think about (and research) during the weekend.

I understand that nobody wants to read doom & gloom BS in Saturday morning :stuck_out_tongue:
Itā€™s just that the more I look at charts, read articles etc, the more I get a sense of deja vuā€¦

Interesting about the japanese yen and how it affects marketsā€¦ i watch guy adami on a pod cast with Ey from sofi and the past year they talk about how the japanese have so much of the us bonds that if they sell that off could be big implications for the usa !
