That’s fair enough. I do buy individual stocks, but I have a very diverse range. Not all of them dividend stocks but I do like a few large blue chip dividend payers in there

global dividend cover is at its lowest for a long time, I think some people are relying on the fact that it has been a good run for dividend paying companies and that is somehow a safeguard from the realities of markets, it has certainly grown in popularity the last 5 years. For me I’m a more cautious investor (each to their own) and I am spreading my investments much more broadly - I spent a fair bit of time building a dividend portfolio and im slowly ditching the lot and transfering it to Vanguard life strategy.
Sure I am still investing in a lot of the same companies through the various funds and I am still receiving dividends, but I have far greater diversification
