Rightangled

I’ve used them multiple times over the past few months for various covid travel tests, so can confirm that they’re still trading!

Also understand that there was a Seedrs campaign a while back which was subsequently withdrawn in the end…

I’m surprised you don’t have much to say, considering your plentiful posts from last year??

Ha. I don’t know about plentiful posts.

Anyway. I’ve exchanged messages with Abdullah - a newsletter will come out at the end of this month.

From following the intensity of TrustPilot reviews and GoogleTrends for ā€œPCRā€ id imagine sales are going superbly… I’d expect nothing less than that. Questions are; how well, how are they executing and how’re they using this windfall to build a sustainable business post COVID.

Anyone else get the H1 2021 update today?

The highlight being:

ā€œSince closing our financial year in December 2020 with over Ā£1.75m in revenue, we are happy to let you know that so far this financial year has witnessed more than 300% growth in revenue & profit.ā€ :sunglasses: I also noted huge growth (x6) in their ops and support teams. Next stop US.

Originally invested at £1.6M valuation in late 2017 so would be interesting to think what it sits at now.

Looking good :rocket: Thoughts?

Good headlines numbers but as I said in their feedback survey - they should really focus on leveraging the covid success to build the best product/team/offering in the UK rather than getting distracted by international expansion

True. I’d left out the bit from the update that mentioned they are trying to do both. Firstly
solidify their UK position, then look to the US.

Similar to concerns above, my concern is the underlying business. Their original pitch talked about starting in the Middle East (have replied to their email to ask) but no mention of that now.

I know that a lot of their sales are white label Covid tests where Rightangled send the kits so curious how their margin is looking.

Really would like to see them use this gold rush (forgive the cold language given it’s a pandemic) to build a future proofed business.

Couldn’t agree more. I’m a supporter of the group, but I have niggles. I imagine 90%+ if their business is COVID tests, there’s probably another year of that to run… but looking to raise to grow concerns me. If you’re not printing money now when will you? Use this ā€œgold rushā€ (phrase used previously!) to build a sustainable business.

I’ve just fired off a few questions to Abbe regarding financials, life post Covid and funding logic. Will share if/once he comes back…

Let’s see if he replies to your email as they have dodged my emails and a direct LinkedIN message ;o)

Has anyone heard back from Abbe or the team recently?

There is no communication after the last funding round!
I hope Righangled is still alive and running.

I tried to connect multiple times but no response. I also let them know in the follow up messages that their comms sucks, especially when writing directly to their investor relations email address. Not even an acknowledgment. Poor. It’s so bad I can only assume no one actually reads the emails or there’s an issue with the email. Either way it needs to be fixed but difficult to provide the feedback to them if no one actually engages.

Just wait until their next round starts (as they did a questionnaire in their last update about coming back to CC). Then they will be super responsive all over again.

It is worrying that they claim to be government approved but are not listed on the government page that shows approved businesses…

They went on to overfund by1045% after the below was revealed, so not surprised.

The New York State Office of the Attorney General (ā€œOAGā€) is extremely concerned by
the manner in which Rightangled’s website makes COVID-19 home test kits available for
purchase by U.S. consumers. See https://www.rightangled.co/products/coronavirus-test. Your
website sells these products for home use and ships them to U.S. citizens although, as of the date
of this letter, the U.S. FDA has not approved any COVID-19 tests for home use

I just came to the U.K. from the USA two weeks ago, and had to take day 2 and 8 COVID tests. I looked for them in the list of authorised provides and found a couple of third party companies that offered Rightangled services. Bought one of them and from that point I was ā€œdealingā€ directly with Rightangled, got the tests by post, and connected to their platform etc. to check results. I was pleased with their service.

So somehow they are authorised, but perhaps not directly.

I just checked the government list and looks like they are now listed under the ā€œ1Corporateā€ brand - not sure what’s going on there…

Pretty poor new article in the Guardian a few days back.

Also I notice I haven’t heard anything from the company since July 21, expecting a Q3 report hopefully soon.

No tweets/Instagram posts since August.

Anyone heard anything? Seems like on-going radio silence…

I do worry about the lack of social media activity - not a good sign at all…
