Hahahahahahaha
May need to give consideration to Freetradeâs revenue model though which is majority FX revenues and minority subscription revenues.
FT probably makes more money from people around the world buying US stocks than they expect to make from allowing US customers to buy US stocks. Thereâs a big unknown here as to what the appropriate revenue model would be if they were to enter US market.
FT donât need to expand into the US. Hargreaves Landsdown are worth ÂŁ7.5bn and they only operate in the UK.
If FT can capture a good % of users across the top 5 European countries to add to the UK theyâll likely have a comparable if not better valuation.
Robinhood is a juggernaught with very deep pockets, to try and win the war with them and take PFOF as your main weapon will never work. People still use Facebook despite what we all know about their data practices and shady behaviour - itâs a shame but people want free stuff and will live with the out of sight downsides.
I agree that PFOF is a questionable way to make money but I donât think the average investor really care about if his/her broker use PFOF.
Guys, do you really think that a lot of people are going to read the The European Securities and Markets Authority paper about PFOF?
Robinhood had bad press for over 6 months about this issue, but it didnât stop the company to grow its users base like crazy and be ready for a $40bn IPO.
Yes PFOF its a way to judge a company about ethics, but its just one factor. What about how a company treat/compensate its employees, hiring diversity, LGBT
Investors judge companies by revenues, and yes a lot of them would prefer to invest in a company with $2bn of âbad revenues/PFOFâ, than a company with $20m of âgood revenuesââŠ
Exactly, just as @David76 said
PFOF isnât great for the end consumer but as I cited above people flock to Facebook & Google despite them having some slightly questionable uses for your data. The average man or woman on the street who is investing for the long haul and doesnât care about GME/AMC wonât care about PFOF.
When Freetrade tries to take on Robinhood in the US, time to sell. No offence!
Itâs ok, I donât hold any Robinhood shares
Jason Calacanis did the Robinhood seed round in one of his funds and returned somewhere in the region of 500x!!!

@Babyiamback Youâre time on across this forum can be useful and mutually beneficial or it can be full of back and forth arguments over things that you have no idea about.
What ever you did to get your first account banned is probably what will get this one banned too.
Take a break and accept that there is no shame in admitting your wrong.
Thereâs actually quite a bit of negativity in the US around Robinhood, not just because of the GME thing. Quite a lot of more experienced investors wonât use it because of the PFOF thing. They want best execution.
Robinhood donât own the US market
