I was horrified to get a push message today from Freetrade, an execution only broker, in effect encouraging me to buy universal music group shares. There was a similar message a few days ago about another share. It would be mealy mouthed to suggest that these were just telling us that shares were available.

Someone is sailing very close to the wind, if not in the wrong place, on ethical behaviour and long term investing here.

Yep, agreed. There was a piece in the FT recently “Stop doing stupid stuff”. Maybe Freetrade should take note.

That’s all I saw them as, notifications saying some new share was available.

But I can see how you could be misled into thinking it was a buy recommendation.
