Tesla Inc - TSLA - Share Chat

Haha, that is exactly what I thought as well

He kept going

Tesla’s share price has surged this year, putting the electric carmaker’s value at close to $100bn, a mark that would trigger a bonus payment of hundreds of millions of dollars to the entrepreneur.

In 2018, a tweet about Tesla’s future on the New York stock market led to regulators fining him $20m and Mr Musk agreeing to have all further posts on the platform pre-screened by lawyers.

On Friday, the Wall Street Journal reported it had asked the billionaire if he was joking about the share price tweet and whether it had been vetted, receiving the reply ā€œNoā€.

The below sentence caught my eye after he’s saying they’re overvalued. Discussing market cap

If and when that figure nabs $100 billion Musk has an option to buy 1.69 million shares of Tesla stock for $350.02 per share. Tesla stock closed at $769.12 on Tuesday. If Musk were to sell the 1.69 million at that price, minus what he laid out for the initial purchase, he could net around $700 million.

There’s more information on Texas and Tesla’s history in this Quartz article from last year.

By moving manufacturing to Texas, I wouldn’t be surprised if Elon Musk achieved a 180 degree turn in the local attitude.

I really like Tesla (used to like Musk, but that’s another story!) and I think the company has huge potential for further growth in both cars, energy storage and batteries… however that article just doesn’t make any sense.

The overwhelming majority of right hand drivers live on the other side of the world. Producing cars in India would surely be cheaper in every respect than in the UK, or just using the first Tesla factory in China to produce RHD cars for that region.

Those other RHD countries also have long established trading histories and trade agreements with other countries in the world unlike the UK where the only certain thing is absolute uncertainty until the end of the year because of the colossal blunder of Brexit.

Love tesla big time, at the same time exploring Nio, the chinese tesla. If things develop well for Nio, perhaps it might equal Tesla in a decade, why not :stuck_out_tongue:

The Nikola CEO said he was as good as Elon. So Elon put the semi into production.
