Lets say we have a no deal brexit, and the pound crashes in value. All my investing money is in Vanguard’s world etf tracker which i buy in GBP. Does that mean it will go up in value? Can anyone say what the relationship is?
My intuition says that the price of the fund would go up. If SOME-STOCK-A traded for $100 yesterday, which was ~£80, and the pound crashed so that $100 is now £100, you’d need to pay £100 for that stock. Same for a whole fund.
As far as companies who use other currencies you would see a big increase in value. You’ll notice the ftse rises in value when pound falls because so many have income in us$.
