Hi All,
I’ve been with Freetrade for several years, I’ve always paid the annual account fee by credit card.
This year however it seems Freetrade (and/or) my bank indicated the transaction was a “cash” transaction and took a “cash fee” and then charged interest on it for the month even though I pay my bill in full every month.
Is this something new from Freetrade - taking the annual fee as “cash” from the card rather than a normal transaction?
My bank immediately refunded their charges and the interest when I queried it, but just a note for others - don’t use a credit card even if it’s been fine for several years in the past.
I’ve switched it to debit card now. The app does warn that your bank may charge fees, but as it never had in the past I didn’t think it would this time.
Thanks
Marcus
