It was a joke more than anything tbh. I don’t think it’s a failure - just not the success it could/should have been.

Freetrade is my second failure via Crowdcube. It is not as bad as my first one (Bank North Ltd), but it is still very bad. I did not expect to write this, but I lost around 87% of my Freetrade investment. I bought 217 B shares at £9.25 [£2007]. Now I should get £258 (with each shared valued £1.19) after the sale of FT is completed. Now I need to cope with a £1748 loss!
I think that is the end of my story with Crowdcube that started in Jan 2022.
Unfortunately you may get less than this. The email said
The amount owed to A Ordinary and B Investment shareholders is an estimate. The exact proceeds you will receive depend on, amongst other things, the total transaction costs, which are paid from the total consideration.
Where theres money changing hands, the middle man will want his cut
True. Although, we’re the mugs paying for a deal we did not ask for, have not been informed about beyond the sanitised emails, and one in which we largely lose in. Paying for our own misfortune.
Or like them robbing us then asking us to pay for the privilege
At least try to share the costs evenly. Or better yet absorb them…
Anyone remember when the cheques were sent out? Was that in FY 2018-2019 or 2019-2020?
Gunna Drinks went into administration: GUNNA DRINKS LIMITED filing history - Find and update company information - GOV.UK
I managed to get out of them with a small profit about 2 years ago. When they made excuse after excuse regarding having no stock
Smart move on your part. Wish I listened to you or @MohammedMohammed two years ago.
There are so many drinks and brewery companies that have failed. Gunna made a good product, I liked their ginger ale. I’ve tried Square Root sodas too, and they were good. I’m sure there’s lots of good craft pints drunk made by breweries who folded.
The entire industry is basically all marketing. The product is mostly irrelevant. The only new drinks brand to make a wide impact over the last few years has been Prime, and that’s because it’s fronted by Youtube bellends.
Is there an equivalent thread to this, but for ‘Crowdfunding Successful Exists’? I know it’ll be a lot shorter than this one! I’ve started collating the ones I know of, but I’m sure I’ve missed some (I’m looking for the companies who have given any return at all to investors).
Yeah, I started one ages ago, it doesn’t get as much traffic as this one for obvious reasons
Ripple Energy goes into administration. They had good traction for the first 3 years (>2x), but failed to secure new funding. Wind farms are separate companies and will be looking for new operators now.
Elemental Digest gone into administration. Email from crowdcube today, no news as yet from the company.
Yup, it only has one message though ‘Monzo’
Unbound publishing gone into administration
Upside Capital as well
Looks like the lights are going out at Rebel Energy who raised on Crowd Cube in 2021
