I’d guess there’s quite a few that haven’t IPO’d yet that are doing OK. What about Brewdog? some people must be sitting on huge unrealised gains there?
Monzo, Revolut, Starling etc. All fintechs.
Den - another Hardware is Hard story.
Multiple rounds on Seedrs, not sure if the last one went through.
Seedrs cancelled the last one at the last minute. An ex employee subsequently came forward and said the staff hadn’t been paid for several months and the CEO had told them he’d “just go back to Seedrs for another round” so he could pay them. Really makes a mockery of the whole thing. The company is going into liquidation as of this week.
In a term sheet agreement at the moment and it’s cutthroat. Asking for stuff we never thought possible. I hope I can announce it on here (not in this forum thread because it’s not crowdfunding) but I hope so.
I doubt it. People go to seedrs and the likes because no one else will touch them. Almost all of them are already dead in the water, or a scam. If they were good in the first place, they’d have got actual funding.
You definitely got a point there. And some of the valuation they come up with.
Oval Money on Seedrs.
Next failure or a good investment?
I put £100 on it as I think it’s a good app that will get milenials saving and investing more but we’ll see.
I’ve invested in them as well! Think they have the potential to do well in Southern Europe, as it seems like they’re doing well in Italy
Zucla restaurants has announced during this week that it has now closed its doors and gone into administration. Founder apologetic for the failure and now looking to ensure that shareholders get their EIS loss relief. Originally raised around £250k via Crowdcube during October 2016.
One of my earlier small investments Autotrip is now in a liquidation process.
I also invested in Den Automation. It has the makings of a Netflix documentary in the style of Fyre festival.
Ben’s Canteen is another of my Crowdcube dice rolls that has gone to the wall. Just before Xmas. Not being London based I never did get that free meal for 4, not that there is such a thing as a free lunch…
I partially agree, however there may be a few that do it behaved they know they can get die hard fans by doing it. As written above Monzo is most definitely one of these, at least in later rounds.
I believe Revolut did the same thing.
But just like any early money investing it’s more of a risk than gambling. But you do learn a little on the way.
Just logged on to https://midrive.com/ and seen they’ve ceased operations.
I nearly invested in their recent Crowdcube campaign, so glad I took a pass in the end.
I can’t seem to see any information about what happened online, does anyone know anything?
This should go to the thread “Crowdfunding graveyard”.
Does anybody know what’s going on with GripIt? Haven’t heard anything in a while… Though I do still see the odd member of staff in local supermarkets wearing their apparel
Another one bite the dust!
Mogul News just sent an email that they are going into Voluntary liquidation as they have not gotten the required funding to continue.
Gripit went through a CVA in December. There is going to be a shareholder update at the end of January.
Thank you!
