[Crowdfunding šŸ”Ø] Revolut crowdfunding - 2020 raise - Any investors around?

Check with one of the two crowdfunding sites - there may be another secondary market window next month @ptebbs @Jibou

Maybe thereā€™s someone willing to sell.

The seedrs update stated they should be available in the April secondary market, they will remain excluded next week in the March secondary market. Revolut shares are notoriously hard to purchase and sell out within seconds, but I expect there to be enough availability now that the valuation is much higher for anyone who wants to purchase to have a good shot.

Hi @astonelesschip, was there a specific Seedrs email update sent out yesterday regarding Revolut? I am an investor but didnā€™t receive one. Cheers

I have never used Seedrs. I am guessing I cannot sell shares bought on Crowdcube through Seedrs secondary market ?!

To be honest, I gave a lot of thought about selling Revolut shares should the opportunity ariseā€¦ I think Iā€™ll keep them for a little longer. To paraphrase a well-known quote ā€œA 60x return isnā€™t cool. You know whatā€™s cool? A 1000x returnā€

It was an update on the post investment page, the update was by a Seedrs member of staff.

Thanks @astonelesschip :+1:

Cool but think of the tax bill

Revolut is at 10 mm+ users now, apparently, has a $5.5 billion valuation.

Squareā€™s CashApp, a rough comparable, has 24 mm users and a market cap of $36 billion (not an enterprice value but minus cash and add convertible debt, it may be around that same figure).

CashAppā€™s revenue was $1.1 billion for 2019 (Squareā€™s total for 2019 - $4.57 billion).

So, if you use revenue as a benchmark, CashApp might be (this is so wrongā€¦) around $7 billion.

Bad math.

Revolut Trading randomly made tens of thousands of USD disappear. A lot of people seem affected.

They have their money back ā€¦ Wonder what the issue was? I donā€™t have a trading account with them, but seems my currency account (ā‚¬21.74) was unaffected. Iā€™ve never had issues with them apart from user (my) error.

This is probably pretty bad news for GoHenry, which always appears quite high in the app charts. I thought GoHenry was fairly expensive, but I canā€™t see how they will compete if Revolut eventually goes totally free.

Give them credit they timed that round damn well and hope they got the cash in the bank already or there might be some investors looking at small print

Thatā€™s now (read ā€œAbout the roleā€):

Thatā€™s last year:

Thats a lot of people in profile roles moving on. Two CFOs in 6 months or so as well. Something is up , maybe some overseas investors calling the shots currently or maybe some regulatory enquiries into KYC/AMl that are proving hard to deal with.

I like Revolut as a product and think it is the best product out there amongst the challengers but think they have more dirty linen in the cupboard than some others and there are some with an agenda to nail them because of the perceived (or real) Russian influence.

To go from where they were when they offered no fee ATM withdrawals and nearly got wiped out with debts to Wirecard is impressive , but think they are having to deal with a lot of questions. Not unusual for a start up in financial services which may have cut corners initially, pretty much every successful financial service company did the same growing but the rope is tighter these days.

Not sure its all so rosy which is a shame as they should be one of the 2 or 3 which consolidate with another big challenger player to provide a real challenge to incumbents

Iā€™m not sure if anybody is still looking at this post, but Iā€™m selling my Revolut shares. If anyone is interested please PM me as itā€™s on Seedrs.

I am interested to buy
Please let me know

You can only sell to existing Revolut shareholders on Seedrs.
