What is the reason for variations between what is distributed by US stocks and what we receive.
For example.: Intel issues 33 cent per share dividend but only 22 pence has been distributed. Is there any extra charges apart from exchange rate?
For UK residents the US dividend withholding tax is effectively 15%. There is no ability to reclaim this.
Oh oky. that makes sense. Thank you
if you use the ISA account you do not have to pay any tax
There is still withholding tax on US dividends even with an ISA, no way round it. Itβs taken by the US IRS.
