whats the deal with T212 Cash ISA. Does the money have to be in some QMMF for it to qualify for the 5.17% interest?

He’s right but not because it should be treated like gambling. The UK treats it like an asset making it very difficult to use things like bitcoin for its intended purpose as a form of payment.

Despite the fact that it’s a currency in some countries the UK still doesn’t recognise it as such. I doubt that will change with the current government.

Other crypto though maybe falls into greyer areas most of them are schemes

With Robinhood and Revolut becoming much more dominant in the U.K. for trading, what will be the role of Freetrade in your opinion?

I think there is value in being a financially responsible platform and not pushing customers into more complex and riskier investment options.

Do either of those have an ISA? Until they do they will never be the dominant investment platform in the UK

Robinhood do not yet but they are planning it and based on the subtle hints dropped in interviews it sounds like Robinhood is mulling the idea of doing UK stocks as well as US stocks

No, there’s no catch, it’s a cash ISA, and probably the best around.

Indeed and some just buy the right (Cf. Elon Musk).

Yes I Can Confirm this robinhood told me, there building options as we speak and isa and sipp products which I find very useful as I can use margins and increase my value for some stocks I know would do excellent and yes uk stocks in on the roadmap for early next year(according to Vlad), I dont see FT being in my opinion a main platform for many , unless they hurry corporate and gilt bonds which I have been asking them to do for two years now, robinhood and revolut is planning this feature. I love ft I have invested thinking they would listen to us on features we need to becoming more financially independent, but it seems there distracted by getting bought out which im sure won’t do much. plus where is the christmas list

Hey all,

If I wanted to dapple in a weekend bit of fun on crypto where is the best app etc to go. I did like paypals option although I know I don’t own the coins directly it’s just the cash. They currently won’t let you buy as they’re changing for UK policy.p

Coinbase is there others?? That anyone uses thanks

I would stick with Coinbase and Crypto.com as the main two.

Does anyone use Halifax Stocks and Shares ISA? If so, what is your experience?

I’m intrigued as when it comes to corporate actions, they allow their shareholders to participate in the voting. Recent example is the current demerger of a THG division into a private entity.

Yes. I’ve used them a number of years ago. Expensive, and there’s nothing special in the UI that makes up for it.

Personally, I don’t see why small investors care about voting rights. Shareholding is miniscule as a %, your vote is a rounding error. Corporate actions on spin offs etc., yeah fair enough.

But back to brokers - I mainly use IBKR & T212. IBKR does everything I’d be looking for Halifax to do, but cheaper.
