Freetrade adding Same day cash withdrawals (for Plus subscribers) is huge. Features which remove friction and add trust canāt be understated.
Thatās great news for plus subscribers but not those of us in standard. This is my biggest gripe with FT having a paid tiered approach to services and another reason why Iām reviewing what I do with my account next year.
As great as it is to see improvement like this, I have to agree. For me, Freetradeās model has always felt like something out of a 2000s freemium marketing manual. Locking some clients out of what is fantastic customer service on Plus, for example, feels so counterintuitive.
Totally agree. As a standard subscriber it feels like we often fall between the cracks and get allocated with inferior functionality. If I donāt want to upgrade to Plus (I have no need for a SIPP) I might as well jump ship to T212 and get greater functionality without having to pay an ongoing charge. I totally understand providing extra services in Plus, but missing basic functionality like same day withdrawal and prioritised customer service does not make me feel valued as a paying customer.
Yes, this is exactly what I did and the long time for funds to arrive in my bank was one of the many reasons!
I can certainly see your point. I have no use for sipp function either as Iām with my workplace pension but as paying customers should we really be referred too as āstandardā and receive a lesser service.
Vanguard are introducing a new monthly minimum charge of £4 per customer from the 31/01/25

Though luckily not on the JISA. best get that general account emptied and closed considering itās got less than Ā£1 in it.
I was just hoping the long-teased Freetrade JISA would be available for me to transfer into. The difference is only Ā£10 a year so Iāll probably stay put but I donāt like it and will swap over here when k can nudge nudge @Viktor
Hoping for a ātide raising all boatsā at this point - not really in competition with them anymore, more like the (very) poor cousin
Has anyone heard anything about the English language app for EU - were we still doing that, canāt remember?
just focus on the UK market at the moment
I would be astounded if TR donāt make a bid for Freetrade
They can enter in the U.K. by themselvesā¦
Just tried to find my Freetrade ISA holdings over on Lightyear to see if I could transfer and loads are missing. I want to transfer to Lightyear but why are Lightyear not offering fairly common US stocks?
Does this mean my transfer would have to be in cash?
Their guidance suggests that they cannot facilitate a direct Stocks & Shares ISA transfer and it would need to be in cash, unless they havenāt updated their own guidance.
GIA they seem to be able to do though.
What tiered ibkr package is best you think?
Iām looking to open an ISA
