Thanks for all the feedback and for the views which we’ve taken on board. A more regular form of company update (like public companies typically produce as a trading update on the LSE, for example) isn’t something we’ve done previously.
That being said, it’s certainly something that could be valuable for all of our shareholders and we’re looking at how best to do this.
Leave this with me and I’ll speak to the team to get something simple and informative together as quickly as we can.
Hey Alex - that’s now two weeks since your message above. Not looking for a super detailed / complex report. Just a 1-2 pager covering basic commercials for the last year (actuals against targets) and for the next 12/24 months (targets), what’s worked well, what can be improved and help needed from the crowd/investors. Literally something that should already be at hand and take 1-2 hours to finalise and share.
Can you have this issued this week at latest please?
We’ve had some discussions internally how we want to do this going forward. The plan is for us to release a semi-annual business update to crowdfunding investors (c. now and c. August each year). This will include some top level financials and business metrics.
Given the timing for this first one, we want to also include an update on the (very good) trading for January and February 2024. As February just closed last week, we’re in the process of finalising the numbers and will look to turn around a FY’23 update with Jan/Feb '24 in the coming week or two.
People get excited around crowdfundings : a lot of information is shared and it’s always very welcomed. Then… it goes quiet for ages and it does seem like you’re only communicating when you’re hoping to get money from investors ! And that’s very frustrating !
So a change in communication policy is a great thing ! Just hoping the “coming week or two” is not another way of writting “soon ®”
I work for a series B, UK cyber company and we update investors monthly.
When and if you go public you will be updating at least quarterly, probably a good thing to embed into company culture as soon as possible if this is on the cards
I understand that your team must be incredibly busy at the office. However, it’s essential to allocate even a minimal amount of attention to this community and, more importantly, to your shareholders.
While you’re not obligated to provide updates as you’re not a public company, prioritizing the Freetrade base reflects positively on your company’s ethos. I’m sure you have access to financial data in your presentations, so dedicating just an hour of your time to share updates would be greatly appreciated.
