ETF Summary
The Global X Lithium & Battery Tech UCITS ETF (LITU) invests in the full lithium cycle, from mining and refining the metal, through battery production.

ETF Objective
The Global X Lithium & Battery Tech UCITS ETF (LITU) seeks to provide investment results that correspond generally to the price and yield performance, before fees and expenses, of the Solactive Global Lithium v2 Index.

High Growth Potential
Lithium battery technology is essential to the rise of electric vehicles (EVs), renewable energy storage, and mobile devices.

Sustainable Theme
EVs produce zero direct emissions, meaning broader adoption could result in reduced greenhouse gas emissions and improved urban air quality (US Office of Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy, “Reducing Pollution with Electric Vehicles”).

Unconstrained Approach
The ETF invests in companies throughout the lithium cycle, including mining, refinement and battery production, cutting across traditional sector and geographic definitions.

Been very interested in this ETF, have the funds waiting to invest. How ma y votes are required before it is considered to be placed in FT?

This will be a New Year Cracker.

The (traded) volumes on this ETF are quite small … in fact so low that it may be forced to close sooner rather than later. For example, no trades 9-13 December. And 488 on Dec 14.

People be careful about “exotic” ETF’s. These kinds of ETF’s close more often than you may think.

Interesting mix of holdings. Heavily weighted to China cos (42.7%), Next are US (21.8%) Japan (10.9%) and South Korea (10.1%).

A few household names but many companies you probably haven’t heard of (not saying that’s a bad thing but may be more difficult to research).

Agree volume seems low on some days - 16th Feb was much higher though and over ÂŁ250k worth of buys (approx 29k shares)
