Greatland Gold - GGP - Share Chat

This is a blessing - lets me build up a position. Let it languish for a few more months I say before ticking up to the next level.

The price is being controlled by a large German outfit
Take a look at the transactions

I believe that price spike was the GDXJ ETF buying their initial position within GGP needed to add it into their portfolio. Now that the initial big purchase looks like it’s finished, GGP’s movement is now just back to normal daily market buying and selling. We should get some new RNS announcements fairly soon regarding the drilling on the other sites and that could stir things up a bit.

… everything has gone very quiet, would it not make sense to maintain market interest by fast tracking publication of drilling results? RNS drought after flood of updates is playing into MM hands.

Relative newbie here so forgive my ignorance.

I think the results are probaly taking as long as they should. It is frustrating but thats how it is. Regulated news has to be correct and there’s a lot of money at stake so it pays to get the best and most reliable analysis

There’s no rush, just sit on your hands and forget about it for now…

A lot of people like to “binge on news” with some shares, but once the news eases they fly into a blind panic, almost like withdrawal.

Usually this is because:

  • They invested too much into a single stock
  • They don’t understand the stock and use bulletin boards and forums to replace their lack of knowledge
  • They watch the price religiously every day

Revisit your investment strategy and if it still look good then chill.

Interesting, I’d like to know more too.

There’s so much news flow for GGP compared to other explorers I think some have become a bit spoilt by it. There’s either a quarterly or interims update every 6-8 weeks which has shifted the SP up every time. The Scallywag results are expected soon (8 weeks tomorrow since the announcement of the drilling starting), but it doesn’t necessarily mean they’ll release these results straight away.
The GDXJ buy in has created more SP volatility as well while the broker note from Berenberg today wasn’t the blow out upgrade many expected (“hold” at 22p) but they were extremely conservative and gave a significant range it could move to with any drilling updates (up to 37p).
Gold explorers are risky. DYOR and if you’re confident on the fundamentals then see this as a buying opportunity, otherwise best to stick to less risky plays.

Just checked, it’s spiked up 13% today is there any reason for this like a news release or just some normal volatility?

Havieron results from Newcrest are scheduled on evening of Wednesday 28th. Before the last Newcrest quarterly update in July there was a 25% rise in SP between the preceding Monday and Wednesday in anticipation of the results.

New interview with Gervaise: https://www.sharebuyers.co.uk/shares/greatland-gold-shares-going-for-growth-deliver-tons-more-value/

Growth catalysts are crucial to business growth – what do you believe yours are?

Beyond the gold price, I believe there are going to be two key catalysts to the company’s growth. First, we look forward to continuing to see Havieron develop and there are a number of key milestones coming up. These include the maiden resource estimate, the commencement of a decline, and a potential pre-feasibility study next year. Newcrest has already moved at a pace that is far ahead of our initial expectations, driven by the excellent exploration success to date at the project, and I am excited to see further progress.

Second, looking away from Havieron, I believe we can unlock significant value for our shareholders by advancing other projects in our portfolio, in particular our leading foothold in the Paterson region. When the JV at Havieron began to gain momentum, Greatland was at a stage in its development whereby the best outcome for shareholders was to focus most of our efforts on advancing that singular project. However, with Newcrest currently operating the drilling and early works at Havieron, we can now focus greater attention on other high-priority targets in areas such as Scallywag, where maiden drill results are soon to be announced.’

‘where maiden drill results are soon to be announced’ - I dont think he would highlighting this so clearly if they were going to be bad results…

Your not wrong and the SP is pushing 25p in anticipation :grinning::+1:t3::money_mouth_face:

My average is 16p too.

I have just added a few more, bringing my average cost to 16p. Hopefully the only way is up to quote an 80’s song.
