He was very lucky and did really well, but if you think about it all the money he has now came from people who bought near the top and didn’t do quite so well…

It could easily happen again if ETH moves to proof of stake. IMHO this has the potential to be amplified even further if the proof of stake roll-out co-insides with the next BTC mining difficulty increase.
