To be fair the only broker I know of who places limits on how many shares you can buy is 212.
212 appear to say that some other brokers also do it depending on thier risk management strategies, or some sort of wording to that effect.
I’ve had 15 + stock brokerage accounts in my lifetime, some of these have been consolidated into others.
Despite what some at 212 might suggest, I’ve never encountered this sort of thing anywhere else but 212.
I have a 212 account and do like 212 and I’m not here to be unfairly negative about 212, but it appears to be a phenomenon that’s linked to them only, nonetheless.

That’s one of the reasons I open a Freetrade account. I have reached the limit with one of my holdings there. I am glad Freetrade does not have this limitation.
