Interesting… M&S reported drop in sales and profit
UK food revenue was down 0.6 per cent, with like-for-like revenue down 2.3 per cent
This is the most concerning thing personally given their plans to become a more mainstream grocery store.
Anyone else keeping an eye on M&S? With the Ocado switch from Waitrose to M&S products in September and the massive uplift in Ocado I’m holding a smallish position to keep an eye on how it all pans out
I was also looking into this but I don’t know if Ocado will be sufficient to sustain M&S. I think it is better to invest in Ocado itself, maybe later on they will seek again a new partner and ditch M&S (or M&S will ditch them).
Just saw that they also will not be paying a dividend this year and next year. That will save money but is sad for the dividend investor. If I buy into M&S it will be immediately.
