My best month so far was just shy of 15 quid, and i was delighted
When I mean start I mean like the new year (June) technically started last may
So this is my second year
But thanks it’s just a slow process everybody will improve in time
Yea like it’s over $100 a share for $AMR and pays 1.2%
For example $O is about $70 per share a d pays 4.5% and it’s monthly
The monthly payout are in my book the best you can get or a 6-7% quarterly payout
Now that’s impressive! Them stocks mentioned are they monthly or quarterly even yearly??
most of my holdings are ETFs, so they pay quarterly. This year Q2 dividend is unusually chunky, almost 50% increase compared to Q2 2021.
VHYL Q2 2022 = $0.9125
VHYL Q2 2021 = $0.6135
I don’t think I’m gonna get the same % increment next year. A bit of a smile during this bear market.
Also iShares WQDV, IWVL provides good % dividend, 3.1% and 3.4%.
What are they like for share price as seen UK dividend is actually down 11% in last month
The share price for VHYL doesn’t do very bad -7.28% in last month, it has yield at around 4%. Compared to VWRL, it didn’t rally much during 2021 but it doesn’t fall much during 2022.
If divs pays roughly more then they -7.28% it’s currently lagging it’s decent but if doesn’t Thet could be an issue,
If Ice worked out your just in front if held for less than 12 months
none of my stock picks are for dividend income, just holding what I hope are growth stock and will sell when I’m happy with return
I still dont 100% trust FT enough to plow all my investment income onto the platform
Actually a good point ATM, I see my % in company go more into the red from yesterday and the stock is up today how can that even work,
Mine is basically a saving fund cause getting more than the banks pay
I agree, be nice to find a dividend aristocract, king, etc with higher divs between 5-7%?
Hey folks!
For those of you I have not spoken to, I’m Greig - a User Researcher here at Freetrade.
We’re exploring bringing more dividend data into the app and I wanted to talk to customers whose investment strategy focuses on dividends to learn more about how you make decisions on what to invest in.
The calls will last up to 1 hour and you can book a time that works for you using this link.
I look forward to talking with you.
Thanks.
See you at 1pm @Greig
I don’t really have time to talk unfortunately but the things I’d like to see are:
Dividends accounted for in the return stats so it’s a total return rather than just the capital gain / loss.
A record of my personal div yield on a stock.
A record of dividend payments in the individual stocks activity feed.
Then extra data would be things like the stability and growth history of the dividend. The dividend coverage / payout ratio. Previous payment dates and values. Upcoming ex-div dates and payment dates. How the yield compares to the market and industry etc etc
Awesome, thanks for sharing @tubby_rokes
One thing I find odd with the dividends with respect to your overall performance is that the almost seem to disappear. All of my performance calculations are based solely on the amount of ££ I’ve deposited, even though I’ve recieved £424 in dividends since I started. That £424 is no where to be seen. I’ve used them to buy more shares in things, so it has increased my holdings and they are “there” but according to the calculations (unless I’m mising something) it is all based off of solely my transfers from the bank. Otherwise I’d second pretty much everything @tubby_rokes has suggested. I go to dividenddata.co.uk and have built my own google sheet for tracking things so I can calculate overall performance per ticker and per month, but it would be interesting (and perhaps a bit depressing for now) to see that while I am £800 down from my deposits I’m really £1200 down when the dividends are factored in. I’m confident I should go green and stay green in the long term, but even when I was £300 in the green I was actually £12 in the red accounting for dividends.
Good points
Apologies if this has already been asked (and answered), but coudn’t find
My questions is do dividend payout contribute to “up/down since you began investing” figure that’s seen on the main portfolio screen?
Yes, they do.
And deposits or withdrawals don’t influence the “up by”/“down by” figure.
