XNAQ can solve this issue
I used the new dd function today. I can honestly say it was what I was hoping for! Super slick. No friction.
Any plans to bring in pie investing as offered by Trading212?
Hi, any chance you can add notifications of when a recurring order is placed? I noticed I got them when they failed, but I didn’t see anything when my orders were successfully placed. I only noticed that they happened once I logged in and look at my account Activity tab.
Many Thanks
Is it just me or does anyone else find the search within recurring orders really clanky? It doesn’t seem to work with tickers, for example, which is frustrating.
For life of me, I’ve been unable to find some securities like BPCR which are on the platform. Is this because it’s complex? Do you need to have a position before it’ll show up?
Biopharma credit? Comes up top of the list when I search for it and if you search the specific ticker ‘$bpcr’ it’s the only result
Maybe a bug on android?
Thanks, adding the $ or £ before the ticker has done the trick. Could not find this nor TFIF without it though and had some odd results for other searches. It doesn’t seem to function as well as the main search under ‘discover’. Thinking about it, I could just add instruments by going to the main search and tapping ‘add to recurring order’.
Hey Rehpot, glad to see you were able to find the instruments. In any case you’re right you can go to the instrument page and add it from there. Just for clarification complex instruments can be added to your recurring order as long as you have passed our Appropriateness tests, otherwise they won’t show up on the recurring orders search screen.
Thanks, I got there in the end. I have passed the suitability check but couldn’t get either of the two tickers mentioned above to show by typing in the ticker or name although adding the $/£ as @Eden helpfully suggested worked.
You can ignore my previous message. This week I did get notifications. So maybe my phone cleared them last time before I saw them.
Great to see and use. I’m sure it’s already been
Mentioned but it would be great if we could set a limit price on recurring orders. I.e only purchase the specific stock if price is less than {x}.
I only want to buy things at a good price
Shame it still doesn’t work properly…
First month it failed to transfer the money on the date that it said it would when setting up both the direct debit and the automatic investment, Aparently it takes three days for the money to arrive, god knows why, and who’s taking the interest of those three days.
Second month it failed as the date set for the transfer of money from account to actual investment occurred that month on a weekend… so it just cancelled the order I stead of pushing it to the following working date.
Not sure why freetrade are having so many problems doing such a simple task that HG have been doing for years!?
I’m seriously thinking of swapping back to them as the whole point of automatic monthly reoccurring orders are not to have to think about it. Yet here I am again thinking about it and having to do it manually
Again
more like 4 days for me. plus 2 more if it hits a weekend meaning lining up a direct debit and recurring order is a pain unless you put something like 10 days between them.
no one will be, and its kind of irrelevant.
the best option seems to be to keep a small fund to cover the recurring order in your account and the direct debit to top up. its kind of the nature of direct debits though, they do take a few days to clear.
variable recurring payments would have been a better option to work faster with recurring orders. not sure why that wasn’t done first
Ah good idea,
And yeah good point
Odd
We have to say, @rehpot - your comment has really been on our minds. No one should have to make that kind of choice!
So we thought you should be the first to know - you can now add up to 50 instruments to your recurring order.
Regular investing, made even simpler!
As always, when you invest, your capital is at risk. The value of your investments can go down as well as up and you may get back less than what you invest.
Fab, thanks Damon! I’ve just whittled my portfolio down to 10 holdings as well!
Ah well, I did need to consolidate my holdings anyway.
This is great. I just increased the # of items on my recurring order. TYVM.
Unrelated: With the LSE outage on Tuesday morning, several of my recurring orders (4/10) were rejected. I then had to manually re-place those orders. It would improve usability if on the ‘rejected’ screen there was a ‘try again’ icon that could click-through to a pre-populated order slip.
I’m pretty sure I still saw a reference to 10 instruments somewhere in the UI - maybe in the ‘tutorial’ that pops up the first time you use this feature?
On a different note, do you have any plans to allow for recurring orders…?
- In which you specify an absolute number of particular instruments rather than a percentage of a total investment amount.
- Which are daily. (If not, what would be the reason for not providing this?)
The scenario for me is that I have done the calculations of how many of each instrument I want to get to in a spreadsheet, so I don’t really have any interest in the percentage allocation feature, since I have done my percentage allocations elsewhere, and just want to buy an amount of each instrument to start building up to my target number. (I don’t necessarily want to buy at the same percentage allocations as in my spreadsheet, since I may already be over or under on particular instruments, and rather than calculate alternative percentages - which I can obviously do to ‘hack’ the feature - it would be easier to just specify absolute numbers.)
On point 2, the reason would be to further smooth a weekly investment strategy.
Any update on when/if the recurring orders will start working on complex stocks? Am still having to manually do some stocks as they just do not register or mention they are not working.
Hi ,
I am not able to create recurring order. After setting up investment amount , schedule , ‘Confirm order’ button doesn’t do anything . It doesn’t even throw any error message or proceed further.
Can someone help me with this ?
Thanks
