I think its about time that we should be able to move cash between accounts ourself as it can take so long for customer services to do it.
This is a good shout. It would be great to be able to move cash instantly between accounts.

I sware tho when FT just add a new thing that’s good it barely gets a yay and then everyone’s onto the next thing they want ASAP.
I voted but I got my gia to my isa moved in hours even though it stated days.
I have gotten 0.22p moved from treasury to isa in less than an hour.
I can see why it would be useful though making use of all accounts etc l.

This would be so useful like to move money from GIA to ISA would save bothering customer services or having to wait for the withdrawal process!

I do concur, it would be handy to move available amounts of capital from my GIA to my ISA and visa versa when Necessary reducing the necessity to top up accounts separately, Yes it’s a good idea and gets my vote, let’s hope someone from the team takes notice and is Willing to reply on this subject so we can get an idea if it will come to fruition .

Yep. I need to move a huge part of my GIA into ISA. Now that you can have multiple ISA’s of the same kind.
The more annoying thing is @Freetrade_Team does not offer a simple mechanism to move funds from GIA into ISA.
I have reached out to the @Freetrade_Team support team on this.
Wish this is something they could work on sooner rather than later.

Maybe this one can be put forward as a Freetrade investor request directly to the Management for consideration.
Could even start a Thread, Called future improvements to the FREETRADE App by Investors Request.
I am sure other people will have ideas for improvements, Some maybe implemented some not, But then people could get more involved just a Thought i had.

It’s HMRC that doesn’t allow it to happen.
My understanding is that you can only put cash into a stocks & shares ISA to then buy shares. So, you have to sell your holdings in your GIA and transfer the cash across to then repurchase your shares

Though. What I meant was. A mechanism to self manage transferring funds (not stock) from GIA to ISA. At present. You have to request this via a support ticket with the @Freetrade_Team do action this.
Example. I sell a number of shares in a company in GIA. The money is sat in GIA account. I’d like to be able to move this (easily/self-managed) into my ISA account in my Freetrade account.
I know you can’t “transfer” existing holdings from GIA to ISA. You’d need to sell the holding in GIA first. Move money around ie into ISA. Then repurchase in ISA.
Hope that clears up my initial point.

That would be useful.
On the few rare occasions I’ve had to do this, I’ve sold, requested a withdrawal, waited for the money to arrive in my account, only to transfer back to FT, which all takes time.
It woukd be so my easier just to be able to do an internal transfer just like a transfer between your own bank accounts.

I’ve opened up a dedicated topic for the self managed feature to allow me to manually transfer funds between GIA and ISA accounts. Rather than having to contact support to do this on my behalf
