Would be nice if FT price gets the uplift!

I also had the cooling of email, with my age and potential health issues down the line and lack of knowledge on tax redemption certificate is putting me right of.

Good news for FT probably

Outside chance of a push by Stake to serve the ‘leverage’ and ‘option’ fan boys now left behind by the RH delay?

Marketing.

Could be interesting to watch the angles of attack :face_with_monocle:

Sorry if someone has already linked this, but a mention for Freetrade in the WallStreetJournal

Same in the Financial Times article.

Don’t know if anybody got this in their email. It’s rather strange they would simply pull out without an explanation or without even trying to enter the UK Market. Great for FreeTrade, but just out of interest, anybody have any theories why this is so?!

This has already been discussed at length in another topic @StockTricks :upside_down_face:

Now would be a good time to do a big advertising push I imagine

…just out of interest, why did you consider it a threat? Is not 212, or AJ Bell or IG or HL a threat jus tlike any other platform?

i was saddened too. I guess they just couldn’t be anymore competitive than FT so had nothing to bring to the table.

Their product offering for UK was a big unkown variable while other players you mentioned are already there and everyone can judge their advantages and disadvantages

Not sure that is true, their sign up list was longer than the total number of users in Freetrade

I would think a wait list would be a subset of early users rather than the other way around.

It does mean there are probably a lot of users up for grabs for FT, 212 and Degiro which I guess should be good news for investors. It certainly makes me consider it, especially if we get some news about Plus features during the cooling off period.

Looks like DeGiro’s struggling a bit, it isn’t in the top 200 finance apps and hasn’t been updated for 9 months.

I’m not sure why that would suggest they are struggling, I haven’t used the app for about that long but I couldn’t really think of anything it was missing.

They added over 200k users in 1H20 and I have to assume that they will be one of the main beneficiaries of the RH delay (bearing in mind FT won’t be an appropriate alternative for a lot of those on the wait list)
