If you check out the Apple thread this was discussed about their new stock split. Looks like it should be a case of just multiple any shares or fractions by 5
More volatility and small investors will prop it up irrespective of fundamentals of the company or future competition in the EV market.
True, there certainly will be more volatility, But it will still be quite expensive at about $280 a share. Considerably more than Apple.
Split or no split, I for one am happy either way;
The dream would be âŚwaking up to find my 5 Tesla shares turn into 25 shares next week. Hold them 25 shares until they reach $1,000 a share. Reap a nice cool $25,000.
Thatâs actually great news for fractional owners. Over at T212 they are liquidating any fractional amounts for these splits, which just adds to the narrative that they arenât ârealâ shares.
Do you have an email or something with that? It is a very interesting mechanism to force owners to sell them repurchase.
Itâs on their community forum. I wouldnt be happy and it would feed into my personal doubts about fractionals so glad to see freetrade/drivewealth donât do it.
FT havenât confirmed whether they will split fractionals or not so we may be in the same position on FT. It would be useful to have confirmation of what is happening with Apple and Tesla!
Why does this create technical difficulties? The whole share owned by FT will be split and than can be re-cut again for the all the clients owning the fractions. Unless I am missing something.
I agree but until weâve got confirmation of that happening it is an unknown particularly as T212 have said they canât split fractionals (presumably because IB doesnât have that functionality).
Logically given that a fractional share is just a number then splitting those fractions is just a calculation assuming that the functionality exists in FT/Drivewealthâs platforms.
New energy and holographic markets are huge, needs in future are very certain, we should keep long-term investment primarily.
$2000 barrier looks like being breached todayđ˛
Are the boots of the cars filled with tulip bulbs?! IMHO Muskâs battery day event is going to have to announce something mindblowing to justify this price given that there are lots of other EV makers emerging and legacy car markers are finally starting to take EVs seriously.
Million mile battery is what people are expecting. That would be huge for the upcoming Tesla semi in particular
Teslaâs being priced like the future is guaranteed Good luck all. HODL
That catâs already out of the bag though (and priced in?) isnât it?
And why does it even matter? the number of cars that make it to even half a million miles is tiny and often itâs not the engine that goes first. Itâs often death from a thousand cuts as parts wear out and it becomes uneconomic to replace them.
Model 3âs drivetrain and body can already last 1m miles. Battery is the last bottleneck. This is gonna be huge as it changes the buying equation completely and also paves the way for Semi.
Then the seat upholstery wonât last 1 million miles! I think itâs more about piece of mind and 2nd lives for batteries rather than expecting any vehicle to still be driving around after 1 million miles?
If you go to Eastern Europe or any emerging market you will see a lot of cars living their last daysâŚ
The used car market is huge. Average car lifespan changing from 200k miles to 1m miles is indeed a significant change.
Bear in mind it says âIts other clients include BMW, Daimler, Honda, Toyota, Volkswagen and Volvo.â so its not quite the Tesla bombshell theyâre claiming.
