There is obviously a practical element to solar (regardless of whether we’re talking about being the main source of power or just part of the mix). To do solar plus charge from your home would depend on which way your house faces. And if we’re talking about warm, sunny days, I don’t know about everyone else but I tend to prefer parking in the shade in those circumstances.

Anecdotally, I have seen a few people at work with electric cars because of this scheme. Would love to get one myself, but I live in a flat and there’s no way to charge a car!
