I’ve noticed that free trade lacks a ton of the ETFs I want - the selection seems to be quite small, in fact.
Maybe even more surprising us that InvestEngine, arguably a younger and much smaller competitor with fewer resources, has a better and wider selection of funds to choose from.
Is there a technical/business reason why freetrade’s selection is so limited?
I don’t disagree, I’m just as aggrieved as the next person at making a loss on my investment. But I don’t expect IG Group to let Freetrade die now there’s a big player behind them. One would expect Freetrade’s profits to be reinvested to increase features, activity and products.
Expanding the etf range doesn’t seem that hard and it certainly isn’t too expensive – IE is almost completely free and they have a much wider range. If I hadn’t paid for the yearly fee I’d be moving my investments
