Admiral Group plc - ADM

Hey all according to Ft we should have got a dividend on 2 June.
Has anyone else received theirs yet?

I’m still waiting, it will come though.

Hey guys question of the day. I try to only have 1 company per industry in my portfolio and for insurance I have Admiral and Direct Line. Which one would you keep and which one to sell?

What’s everyone’s thoughts on admiral? Since the analysts seem to think it’s unfavourable?

Work colleague does rallying and has multiple cars, previously on a multi policy with Admiral.

In the last few weeks his renewal came through and it had sky rocketed.

He called to enquire and the sales guy said ā€˜have you seen our share price!’ Went on to disparage the company.

My colleague has no interest in stocks and doesn’t know I do…he mentioned it in a conversation about car insurance, not stocks…I take that as very genuine and a major red flag.

When I sold in my gia last week into my isa it’s already up 7% and I’m still due the divident. I always thought most bought this stock for it’s good divident and I was going to pump money into it per month along with other stocks but it’s worrying seeing a red flag so I’m unsure now.

Might sell tommorow and wait a while who knows not to sure yet.

Certainly dont do anything on account of my post. I believe the story, albeit third hand, is genuine, but that was from one sales person…not the CEO

Certainly an issue…but not a compelling verdict.

Yes I would need to research as to why 14 analysts have put a red flag on it not all of them but the majority have said unfavourable.

This is freetrade data I’m reading due to having the standard account.

There is always Legal & General and Aviva…

Big divs, same kinda market, less issues.

But its a DYOR thing of course.

With your current holding might be best to hold and see…personally I wouldn’t be adding more .

They used to advertise constantly…not see an ad in ages … something seems off

Dont rush into anything and make sure you are happy with all your choices…remember MOST times doing nothing is the right answer.

I do also have legal and general that one I’m happy to keep pumping cash into.

I had aviva and when they split the shares it screwed my graph up and showed a 50% loss that was a free share BTW so I didn’t care much and haven’t ever looked into buying lots of aviva.

I will do I may well just hold it’s not a massive holding Ā£200 notes but I’m a earily invester with not a ton of cash so that little 200 is lots to me lol that could go elsewhere like L n G.

Thanks though for the repliy always nice to talk about investing with investing people.

Agree, its good to have the forum.

Some people shy away from opinion, but I think its valuable to share honest opinion and trust the other members to be sensible enough not to take it as ā€˜gospel’ but to take it on board in the round, as a miniscule part of their own researchšŸ™‚
