Sky’s the limit

Silly question but I’m new to this… When it reaches a high… Will it gradually drop or might it drastically drop… I’m at work and can’t keep an eye on them and don’t want to lose out

It can also drop drastically. It’s all supply and demand. If the last price was 1000 but now people only want to buy for 100, the price will drop to 100 if someone wants to sell at that price.

This is what happened in the famous VW short squeeze, didn’t stay up there for long

Edit: This is why I asked about people’s exit strategies a while ago. it would be so easy to miss the spike and end up back where you started, or worse buy on the way up and end up holding the bag when it’s all over. If it does spike up and down very fast you may not be able to sell for your desired price even if you have a limit order in. There’s a high chance of slippage or the order being rejected.

Thank you :+1:

There could be two things happening on the way to the peak:
A)Gamma squeeze
followed by
B)Short squeeze

What do You all reckon another spike or
Back down?

I’m holding around 160 shares at the moment. I’m due to head away in around a week and I’ll be off the grid for a number of weeks, what would people suggest here?

Do you have Freetrade plus?

Unfortunately not, just ISA

Can you afford to lose every single penny? If not, then use your common sense…

If you can, enjoy the ride, and accept the fate of your money.

First time stock buyer, just put £1000 in amc this afternoon on a whim. Now I’ve convinced myself I’ve stupidly bought on the peak and will never see it again. Maybe I’m not cut out for gambling lol.

AMC Entertainment Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: AMC) (“AMC” or “the Company”), announced today that it has entered into an agreement to raise $230.5 million of cash from the sale of equity to Mudrick Capital Management, L.P. in exchange for 8.5 million shares of AMC’s Class A Common stock. The equity was raised at a price of approximately $27.12 per share. The cash proceeds from this share sale primarily will be used for the pursuit of value creating acquisitions of additional theatre leases, as well as investments to enhance the consumer appeal of AMC’s existing theatres. In addition, with these funds in hand, AMC intends to continue exploring deleveraging opportunities.

So what do we think this means??? Good for the company but what about the share price?

Well if Mudrick immediately sell the shares there will be a downward pressure on the price. They could also intend to loan the shares out to short sellers which I guess will delay a squeeze as one of the ingredients is unavailability of shares to borrow.

I wouldn’t worry 8.5m new shares is nothing (and no one is buying this for fundamentals), they sold 150m in January. The reality is while the stock is above ~$3 selling shares is free money for AMC so they will probably keep doing it, at least until they are debt free.

TO THE MOON! :rocket: :rocket: :rocket:

The 8.5m shares already existed so no dilution.

I was expecting more today. Probably will let it go and put my money in serious stocks. I already doubled my money so I’m ok. But I’ll wait until tonight.

It’s up 92% in 7 days…this isn’t a serious stock to you? Hmm
