Google is making a modest contribution here, but their interest in AST technology suggests some potential. The success of 5G call tests by this smaller company could be significant for Android phones in the near future, particularly when it comes to competing with Apple’s satellite features. The market is gaining strength with Starlink and Amazon launching satellites, even though calling options aren’t in the picture for them at the moment.

According to this article, 2024 will be the year of LEO (low Earth orbit). I am not sure if it will really be, but the segment is heating up for sure.

Forbes: “2024 the year of LEO” | Advanced Television.

I don’t know if anyone else here, besides me, is following the direct-to-smartphone services development, but here is an important update. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in the US is about to allow satellite operators to use spectrum from terrestrial cellular businesses for their smartphone connections, and when beyond the reach of conventional mobile towers. It is an important and necessary step for businesses such as AST, Starlink, Amazon, Apple, and others.

Opened a small holding in this

It was $2.30 some weeks ago and I lost it. Now, I am waiting for a dip as it went too high with the last news. Anyway, this’s one to watch closely.

Well at least this stock is bringing me joy at a time when most of my portfolio is turning red.

Any specific reason for today’s big jump?

Looks like they rolled out the birds today.

I’ve been waiting for a dip, but it seems it’s not going to happen. They’re each time closer to their target. This’s the one that could bring real competition to Starlink, or perhaps no competition at all, as they will be delivering connection without any device needed.

Thanks for the link.

Assuming it will dip from here before the launch. Will follow this closely with the potential view of increasing my stake

Having said that, that dip is not happening today,

I don’t think a dip will occur until August, when they are about to launch their satellites.

They have their earnings announcement before then.

That could produce a dip or skyrocket things again (no pun intended).

I’ve been holding this stock for just over a year now and i noticed that the stock price on 02/07/23 was just over the £10 mark it’s now sitting at £20 per share. This company is at the forefront of our relationship with Space and it’s still very much in its infancy :rocket:

My apologies I was looking at this July, last year July it was sitting at just over $5.my Apologies again.

I’ve bought when it was $3 and sold. Now, I am looking for a new entry point. Perhaps $20’s still cheap considering the huge potential. However, since this’s a speculative stock, I am really afraid to take the risk.

Same here.

The growth has been so huge though (passed the 100% mark yesterday in about a month) that I may just sit tight until results have been made public at least and there’s a better understanding of how risky this is.
