CRUD (WisdomTree WTI Crude Oil) and BRNT (WisdomTree Brent Crude Oil) should be added to allow Freetrade users to by oil trackers in a time when oil is at an all time low… please add ASAP!
I agree. Would like the WTI Crude Oil adding as I’m interested in investing like you said, sooner rather then later!
@Freetrade_Team / @Freetrade_Admin please make this happen
Agree to the option. Can you add the stocks for everyone to invest …
@Freetrade_Admin
They are not really oil trackers as they do not track the price of oil very accurately but are essentially bets on volatility.
Do you not think it’s a good time to invest in crude oil at the moment?
Yes I do, but actually invest in crude oil by buying producers. If you buy this ETC (it is not an ETF) you are buying a pseudo active fund which is run as a passive fund. The risks are massive and hard to actually calculate (all based on which contracts they own, when they roll them and how often). Also these ETC provide a very poor tracker of oil. If you want to invest in oil it would be easier to go to a petroleum station, fill up barrels and sell it to friends.
BUMP - with the recent windfall profit tax imposed by the UK government; it highlights the need to have access to the underlying raw commodity.
Trading212 gives its users access to the following:
- CRUD (WisdomTree)
- BRNT (WisdomTree)
- OILG (Bloomberg → looks to be a blended Crude WTI + Brent)
Is there any reason these cannot be added?
IG has access to:
- USO (U.S. Oil Fund LP)
The most popular one to use. Now that Biden has also spoken about similar windfall taxes in the USA, can we PLEASE get these added ASAP?
Not 100% sure if you’re aware but many US-registered ETFs are not available in the UK/EU as they’re not compliant with UCITS regulations. If you’re able to find a compliant version it’ll have UCITS in the title. More information can be found here the only way round this is for the broker to accredit you a “professional”. Given the huge fees IG charge they can afford build out this more niche service
Which brings us full circle back to the subject line: CRUD & BRNT
