Dunelm Group - DNLM - Share Chat

Dunelm are a retailer of home furnishings, specialising in textiles throughout the UK. This firm operate 169 superstores and 100 Pausa coffee shops.

Far from an imperial DD but ice been stuck in the queue here for 10 mins and the car park has people queuing round the block. This place is printing money today!

Anyone know how well they’re doing investment wise?

Simple metrics look good for Dunelm.

Dividend yield is a modest 2.5% and is well covered by earnings.

Looks like I might be in to something. Thanks @Coolsmp needs some more attention.

Despite many analysts’ predictions that the stock had exhausted its Covid tailwinds, Dunelm continues to report strong figures. Having said that, the stock is down 25% year to date (YTD). With fears of a slowing economy and cooling housing market, what’s next for the Dunelm share price? More importantly, could this be an opportunity for me to snatch up Dunelm shares on the cheap?

I feel honoured that you’d spend you’re time writing a piece that will probably do the worst metrics fool might ever see! Thanks @Jthejellybean

I’ll keep it on my watch list for now but I’m going to have to take the plunge at some point!

Turns out to be a good decision, dropped 20% since then. I’ll keep watching, inflation at 8.6% is very bad for Dunelm given a lot of their revenue would be considered discretionary

Wise counsel, but think I’m going to have a dabble at 8 quid on Monday!

At £8 I think it’s a good buy, i’m not sure it’s the bottom but over a 12/18 month horizon I think you’d be happy with that.

Yes, just a bit now and then average down if needs be (which will be needed, it’s bound to go down as soon as I touch it!). Also having a look at ABF if it veers near £15

Little over two weeks old but worth a glance read.

Did you bite in the end today @StevieG ?

I did indeed @NeilB! Also opened small positions today in AAPL, ABNB, WISE and PLUG. May acquire a cheeky few shares in ITM and BARC on the morrow. Will add to all VERY cautiously! Chickened out of ABF tho….

I sat on the sidelines a little longer than you @StevieG but dipped my toe in before earnings.

@Jthejellybean doesn’t post here much now but he tracks Dunelm and writes on Motley Fool. Worth a read for a ‘non Motley fool’ type of write up.

Thoughts @NeilB (or any other investors) on the recent downturn? Latest results fairly positive, new person at the helm well received, financials excellent. I’m going to buy a few more on pay day!

I still like the stock, it’s one I’ll add to slowly. I’m not worried in the 2+ year window but if inflation bites like predicted then the home improvements might well suffer. They’re well positioned with almost no debt so can ride out more than their competitors.

Dunelm have also said sales have been consistent in the first ten weeks of its new financial year. The company expects to deliver around a 50% gross margin for the full year
