EIS Certificates for the current funding round and Umbrella Companies

Hi Freetraders

Does anyone know when Freetrade will release the relevant EIS certificates to be able to claim EIS relief on the current funding round.

Also I’m curious how EIS applies to those who are inside IR35 but are paid through an Umbrella Company. I did a quick google but couldn’t find anything

If you are inside IR35 you’re being taxed at source. By all means try your Umbrella agent but I don’t think they will be able to help. You could also try the HMRC helpline.

I’d imagine you’ll need to fill out a tax return to clawback the 30% of your investment though.
